A pile of fabric gathered in the corner of the workspace.
Scraps from the past I couldn’t throw away, and unused fabrics quietly waiting their turn.
I rummage through them without a plan.
Though they’ve always been nearby, they unexpectedly offer a fresh sensation.
A little later, I recall the pieces that no longer exist, and the feeling I had when I first acquired those materials.
Between those two sensations, something new begins to emerge.
From there, joy takes over and my hands start moving on their own.
