A bundle of relatively sturdy and costly 100% wool—gabardine and twill—
was twice dyed with sumi ink, then subjected to two hours of washing and rinsing in a drum washer.
This is what remains.

Its original sheen has vanished, some of the weft threads now peek through,
and it has come to pair harmoniously with linen, taking on the gentle touch of cotton.
With every glance, it becomes a piece more deeply cherished.

This is the result of a single piece of relatively durable and expensive 100% wool gabardine or twill being dyed twice with ink, washed and rinsed for a total of two hours in a drum washing machine.

The sheen has disappeared, the weft threads are sticking out in places, and the fabric has blended with the linen, giving it a comfortable, cotton-like feel against the skin, making it a garment that you will grow to love every time you see and touch it.
