It is made by combining thick slightly melton wool with a slightly lighter fabric reminiscent of battle dress, both dyed with natural plant dyes. Boiled during the process, the fabric shrank, becoming ruggedly distorted and slightly stiff, giving a sensation similar to wearing leather clothing.

Only the collar is left cut-off.
Fully lined.

The sleeves are slightly longer, giving it a jacket-like shape.
The back hem is slightly longer, and when tightened with a Japanese string it becomes like a blouson.
